About

Julie Ruby is a psychotherapist licensed in New York and Connecticut currently practicing via telehealth. She is committed to helping adults find clarity, connection, and healing in the midst of life’s challenges. Julie’s therapeutic style is rooted in a client-centered approach, prioritizing clients’ unique voices, values, and goals She weaves together several treatment modalities—including Relational Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—to create a customized treatment experience. By blending these approaches, she aims to meet clients exactly where they are and support them in building greater emotional resilience, insight, and balance.

Julie specializes in working with individuals navigating the emotional complexities of the cancer journey—whether newly diagnosed, in active treatment, in remission, or living with long-term survivorship. Cancer impacts every part of life, including body image, relationships, and future plans, and she provides a space where those experiences can be explored without judgment. Her practice also focuses on supporting individuals and couples as they face fertility challenges, which often come with a unique mix of grief, hope, stress, and relational strain. She helps clients process these experiences and move forward with greater clarity and emotional strength.

In addition, Julie is experienced working with clients facing challenges related to parenting, marriage, and intimate relationships. Whether you’re a parent feeling overwhelmed, a couple struggling with communication, or someone seeking more satisfying and secure connections, therapy can offer a space for reflection, repair, and growth. Julie believes in the healing power of relationships—both the ones we explore in therapy and the ones we cultivate in everyday life—and she works with clients to build stronger, more authentic relational patterns that align with their values.
